Sympathy for Seoul
The phone rang and one of my producers asks me: "Do you want to go to Seoul for a shoot next week?"
The Saturday after, after the longest flight of my life so far I found myself in stunning South Korea, straddling the enormous gap between its past and its present; between the superhighways of hypercapitalism and the warm mist drifting through the temples on the banks of the Han River. What I was left with was a deep sympathy for the people that go about their lives in this charming corner of the world and all that they have built.
